Downers Grove Illinois Shopping
Party City in Downers Grove is a Halloween store selling everything from Halloween costumes, toys and accessories to animated props. Party City is located on the corner of South Main Street and North Avenue, just blocks from the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
The mall's anchor stores are JCPenney and Von Maur, while an empty anchor store once housed Carson Pirie & Scott. Carson and Piries and Scott purchased the anchorage space that serves as the main entrance to the mall, as well as a parking lot and multi-story parking garage.
Big Idea originally planned to use the space as a temporary office while rebuilding and transforming the local DuPage Theater into a new headquarters, but when it needed more work than expected, it donated the theater to the village and stayed in Yorktown. A small part of the cemetery remains, while others were moved during construction work on the shopping centre. Following the closure of Carson's furniture gallery, the largely empty shop in York Town is to be demolished to redevelop it as a residential home.
There will also be two escalators around which, according to the plans, additional retail space will be built. The former Sears store in Downers Grove, Illinois, is to be demolished and expanded by another 1,000 square feet of commercial space.
Magellan Furniture is being demolished to lure an anchor shop into the area of the lifestyle centre known as Shops at Butterfield. The new division, which is run by Macy's and Target as well as a number of other retailers, opened in 2007. Other buildings in the area include Sears, Macy's, Home Depot, Kmart and a few other stores. With Target and Greatland (which opened in October 1996), the perimeter of the mall became a site of further development.
One of the unusual features is the addition of a two-story building on the west side of Downers Grove, south of Main Street.
Downers Grove stores are located on the west side of Main Street, south of Main Street and east. They have 41 low-cost locations in the Chicago area, including but not limited to, Andersonville, Mundelein and Glencoe, Illinois.

Party City is the largest party retailer in the country, with more than 1,000 stores and over 1.5 million square feet of retail space. In April 2018, the mall announced that Carson's Pirie Scott, then Carson's, was closing, leaving only Von Maur and JCPenney as anchor stores. After the chain went bankrupt in 1987, Wieboldt's was the first anchor store to close and it stood empty until it was rebuilt in 1994 and opened as an anchor at the Perimeter Mall, which opened in 2012 in Dunwoody, Georgia. Von Maur's stores were the second-largest chain, opening in the 1990s and early 2000s as anchors in malls in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago.
The mid-1980s redevelopment replaced pastel neon lighting with pastels and neon lights, and the Food Court expansion added a new cafe, a café for laptop-connected shoppers, and a café. Other amenities include a shopping centre with shops known as Shops of Butterfield, an outdoor terrace and an indoor and outdoor swimming pool.
